I’ll fly away
After flying a Cessna 180 for a few minutes last week, I have decided to add “missionary aviation” to my ministry goals in France! The Lord gave me the marvelous opportunity to visit a dear friend, Kari Weldon, who is serving the Lord at Regeneration Reservation in Arizona. She has been teaching missionary kids and working with the Apaches for the last six years, and we had both been praying for an opportunity to see each other before I go to France. I got to fly the plane when Pastor Murphy flew us to another reservation for a Bible study at the women’s jail. Kari is also preparing for her Black Belt exam in karate, and I took part in a group lesson! Now I am fully prepared to be a single missionary.
Parlez-vous français?
One of my prayer requests last month was for wisdom in choosing a language school. The Lord has answered by clearly directing me to apply for a course in French language and civilization at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. This will be an excellent way for me to adjust to French culture, and to share the Living Water in a spiritual desert. After many years of training in Christian environments, I am longing to be in a place where I can put that training to good use. Please pray with me for the Lord to prepare the hearts of the friends I will make. The Sorbonne, which is located in the heart of the city, was founded in the thirteenth century. Lord willing, I will begin my studies there in January 2008.
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside
While visiting a church in Denver, the Lord allowed me to meet Dan Lucarini, who has written excellent books on the topic of CCM. The copies he sent me this week will be a superb addition to my music-teaching resources. The same Sunday I got to see the Seigworth family, more dear friends who just “happened” to be in Denver on vacation. Additional blessings include a part-time job here in town and more meetings for this fall (including three missions conferences). Great is His faithfulness!
July schedule
During the first week of July, my family is heading up to Steamboat Springs, CO for vacation. I will continue to present my ministry in Colorado churches this month. Also, I am looking forward to seeing the Foxes and the Stevensons (future co-workers) at Sarah Fox’s wedding in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
Prayer requests
1) that the Lord would use me for His glory in each church that I visit; after doing this nearly every Sunday for ten months, it is easy to coast instead of depending on His grace
2) continued increase in support (current level: 57% - one percent higher than last month!)
3) safety and grace for my co-workers, the Foxes, as they return to the States for furlough on July 6th
The Lord is abundantly answering your prayers for me. Please, please keep it up!
For His glory,
Kristi Colas
