“My cup runneth over.” Psalm 23:5
This past month, the Lord gave me the opportunity to be in ten different churches – five for the first time, and five for the second time. It means so much to me when people remember me and tell me they have been praying for me. As if that was not enough, the Lord also encouraged me by allowing me to fly to PA for a week to visit my grandparents, college friends, and two of the families I will be working with in France (the Foxes and Stevensons). To my surprise, one of my friends from my church in France was at Sarah Fox’s wedding. We had a great time catching up with each other. She said, “Kristi, tout le monde t’attends!” (Everyone is waiting for you!)

“Make of me a crisis man.”
On a flight recently I sat next to a girl my age named Betsy. I had the opportunity to share my testimony with her, and she seemed to agree with everything I said, although I was pretty sure she was not saved. Later in the conversation she stated unashamedly that she was living with her boyfriend. Did I confront her kindly about how God views sin? No, I’m sorry to say. She probably went on her way without coming to grips with her need for a Savior. The Holy Spirit reminded me that it is much easier to tell someone that God loves him than to warn him of God’s righteous judgment. Later that week I heard a quote by Jim Elliot that really hit home: “Father, make of me a crisis man. Bring those I contact to decision. Let me not be a milepost on a single road; make me a fork, that men must turn one way or another on facing Christ in me.”

Eastward ho!
The time has come for me to wrap up my summer in Colorado, clear off my stuff from my parents’ dining room table, and head back to New Hampshire, where I will base my deputation efforts until December. Thankfully I have friends in strategic places who have kindly offered a place for me and the VW Bug to rest during the ten-day trip (in Manhattan, KS; Leavenworth, KS; Cedar Rapids, IA; Rockford, IL; Midland, MI and Toronto, Canada).

Prayer requests for August:
1. that I would care more for people’s souls than for their opinion of me
2. that I would have alertness and stamina on the road
3. that the Lord would provide the rest of my support by Thanksgiving (current level: 57%)

Thank you for your ministry in prayer.

For His Name’s sake,

Kristi Colas
